Photo Diary: Blanca Lake

“To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.”

BLANCA LAKE, CENTRAL CASCADES, WA

The milkiest of green <3

The clouds were keeping the sun from hitting the water just right. But beautiful nonetheless.

Spy the floating person!

Not the sunniest day, but this place was equally breathtaking.

And yes, even the furry children have love for adventure =)

Best thing? You can camp up here! After 3 miles, 4 hours, and about 3,000 feet of elevation (very steep, yes!) camping is all I wanted…But we didn’t.

Floating in the sky!

Floating in the sky! And finally some sunlight =)

And what a great way to relax after a crazy steep hike!

Cordalife sandals. Best adventure sandals ever.

We didn't anticipate this being such a crazy hard hike. All the stuff we brought up with us were totally unnecessary considering how little time we ended up spending here.

We didn’t anticipate taking four hours to hike this. Bring LOTS of water for a summer hike. Two water bottles will not do. We brought a gallon each, and finished it all.

Haha! When you think you cannot, you will make it to the lake! Adventurers unite! :-D

I LOVE this Man! <3

Yup. Not me! This water was glacial.

Until next time, beautiful Blanca Lake.

Until next time, beautiful Blanca Lake. Spent maybe an hour here before heading back to avoid nightfall. We hiked in the dark for about 15 mins. No big deal.

The hike has some beautiful views though. Be sure to stop for a break <3

Amazing right? AND, I had huckleberries for the first time EVER! I couldn’t stop eating them on the way down. And THEE best blueberries I’ve had. Holy smokes, the bears have it good!

Thank you for stopping by =) I wish you all endless curiosity and magical adventures! Stay blessed.

With love,

  2. My bf and I started the hike to Blanca Lake but it was two days after I got all my wisdom teeth out (and I was still on medication!) and I couldn’t complete the hike. :( I ended up feeling sick and light headed and we turned around. These pictures are gorgeous and I can’t wait to return to finish it! It’s a grunt uphill lol

    • Yikes! On a hot summer day, we were feeling out of breath in the first few minutes of the hike, so I can’t even imagine trying to do the hike on medication.

Definitely one of the hardest hikes I’ve done, haha. Such an incline! But that lake!!!?! You’ll love it :)

What do you think?
